TRAVEL ROUTE

China: 　Urumqi/Beitun/Habahe/Kanas/Hemu/Burjin/Kuitun/Bayinbulak

Kucha/Aksu/Kashgar/Khotan/Niya/Korla/Turpan/Urumqi.

Day 01: Urumqi

Arrive at Urumqi, transfer to Hotel World Plaza or similar . Rest of the day is free on your own.

Day 02: Urumqi / Beitun by Car

Visit to Heavenly lake (120kms) after the tour, further drive to north to Beitun in Altai district.

Day 03: Beitun / Kanas

Drive to Jiadengyu, the entrance to Kanas natural reserve. After check in to hotel, take the shuttle bus to Kanas lake, hike up to Guanyuting to see the whole scene of the lake. Back to Jiadengyu for overnight and dinner.

Day 04: Hemu

Full day visit at Kanas lake and Hemu Tuwa village. Overnight at Jiadengyu.

Day 05: Hemu / Karamay

Drive along the west edge of the Zhun’gar basin to Karamay with en route visit at Ghost city. Overnight at Oil Field Hotel or similar.

Day 06: Karamay / Urumqi by Car / Kashgar by Evening flight

Drive to Urumqi, visit to Xinjiang museum to see the three thousand years old mummies and its ethnography section to have a deep understanding about ethnic groups living in Xinjiang.. Evening flight to Kashgar. Overnight at Yambu Hotel or similar.

Day 07: Kashgar

Full day visit to Mausoleum of Abakhoja, Mosque Eidkah and old streets of Kashgar.

Day 08: Kashgar / Tashkorgan

Drive to Tashkorgan (300kms) , the town on the most west of China mostly inhabited by Tajik people. Visit to the old fort, visit the Tajik village and the family etc. Overnight at Crown Hotel.

Day 09: Tashkorgan / Kunjirab pass / Karakul

Drive to Kunjirab pass (130kms, 4800meter above sea level), the border to Pakistan. Then drive back to Karakul (230kms). Overnight in the yurt.

Day 10: Karakul / Kashgar

AM hike around the lake, PM drive to Kashgar (200kms). Overnight at Yambu Hotel or similar.

Day 11: Kashgar

Full day visit to the Sunday Market, ruins of Honai ancient city, visit to the Mausoleum of Sultan Sutuq, the emperor of Karakhanid dynasty and the man who brought the Islam to this part of the world. Drive back to Kashgar through Atush city. Overnight Yambu Hotel or similar.

Day 12: Kashgar / Turpan by Train

Take the midday train to Turpan. Overnight train soft berth.

Day 13: Turpan

Arrive at Turpan station in the early afternoon, PM visit to ruins of Jiaohe ancient city, Karez wells. Dinner at night food market. Overnight at Tuha hotel.

Day 14: Turpan / Urumqi by Car

Today, we start the day with drive to Tuyuq valley (70kms) on the east of Turpan. The landscape of this peaceful village is beautiful and we walk across the village for about 1 km to a cliff to see Buddha caves with broken paintings. On the way back to Turpan, visit to ruins of Gaochang AC, Astana graveyard from Tang dynasty and Bezaklik Buddha caves. visit the Emin Minaret which was built in 1777. Drive back to Urumqi (200kms). Check in to Hotel world Plaza or similar.

Day 15: Departure

Transfer to airport to depart. End of SRA service.
